What's been going on?

I guess I've been up to a few different things over the last week or so.

Travel -

Last week, my man and I celebrated 3 years of togetherness by taking a short road trip up to the Hunter Valley wine region. We aren't huge wine drinkers but did come back with a box or two of lovely wines. We even discovered a couple of "stickies" or dessert wines that we really liked. Previously, we hadn't liked the ones we'd tried. We have changed our minds now.

Entertainment -

We went to see The Jim Henson Company's "Puppet Up - Uncensored" show at the State Theatre on Friday night.

It was great! I've been a huge Henson fan for as long as I can remember and this had me laughing pretty much the whole way through. It was mainly an "improv" show and I particularly liked when they pulled a guy out of the audience to try to be a puppeteer for a puppet who was being interviewed for a modern dance job. I cried with laughter!

Creativity

I finished sewing my second Built By Wendy Simplicity top - #4111. I made a couple of mistakes but it is totally wearable. I'm pretty happy with it.

Oh, and thanks for stopping by and commenting on the bangles.... i'm a bit lost as to whether they're gonna catch on / go down well, so its great to hear your thoughts!

...Look forward to seeing how the Kaftan turns out ;P

Thanks Bonnie! I'm glad you like what I've been making. I'm afraid the kaftan conversion isn't turning out how I'd hoped. There wasn't quite enough fabric. It may still be kind of salvagable though. We'll see.

I love that top - the fabric is lovely - was it a local purchase? Not from the dreaded Craplight I'm sure! :)

Thanks Karyn!
Believe it or not, it was from Spotlight/Craplight! It must have been a lucky find because I don't often see fabric I like there. I got it from the Rockdale store in Sydney...probably 6 months ago or more. Not sure if they still have it.
