Car Boot Sale

This morning I went to a local car boot sale. I found this -

The Realistic Concertmate -200 with case and manual. I was very excited. The thing I enjoy about it the most is the "demo" song that it plays. It's a classic. :) It's the same as the one that the keyboard-headed StrongBad plays in this crazy cartoon over at homestarrunner.com

As promised...

As promised, here are some photos of the katsai shrug and Built By Wendy top in action.

Firstly, is my interpretation of the Built By Wendy, Built By You pattern #3964. It needs to be ironed and I'm still trying to decide what to do about the little sleeves but I like the fabric. The floral fabric was some that I found in at St. Vinnies (thrift store).

Secondly, katsai's cool shrug which I bought through katsai.etsy.com. It's still a bit warm here for me to put it to good use yet but it won't be long until the weather cools down a bit more.

Grandpa Taught Me

This morning I was reciting something that I think my Grandfather taught me as a child...it was annoying my guy, which was funny. I thought I'd annoy you all with it too. You may know it already.

1 1 was a race horse.
2 2 was 1 2.
1 1 1 1 race.
2 2 1 1 2.

;)

More found items.

I forgot to show you my latest "treasures" found on my morning walks.

.

Trying another auction site.

I've decided to try a new auction site - oztion.com.au
It will be interesting to see how it measures up. It looks like it's worth a try.

Anyone used it before?

Making and Buying

I've been making a few pieces of clothing for myself lately. I bought a few of the Built By Wendy - Built By You patterns on the net.

I've made the top pictured in the center but I need to fiddle with the sleeves a bit as I think I used too heavy a fabric. I'm pretty happy with the rest of it though and it was fairly easy. I'll post a picture of the finished product once I've sorted out the sleeves and given it an iron.

Another one I'm planning to make is this -

I've also been buying things too.
Firstly I've bought a great little shrug from katsai on etsy.com.

(This is her own photo that I've borrowed.)

It's great. I can't wait until the weather cools down here so I can wear it!

I've also finally bought a "Forest Seedlings Tote - in Forest Moss" from little odd forest. It's even lovelier in reality than in the pictures.

Found on my walk

I'm not sure what this actually is but it fits in my pocket so I picked it up. I've started a flickr group called "Pick It Up" so if you have found any little treasures like this and are a flickr user like me, then feel free to add it to the collection. :)

"Lounge Warming"

Last night we attended the "lounge warming" party of some friends. In honor of the new lounge, I made some lounge brooches.

At 11.45pm, a lovely neighbour yelled to us that it was 2 am...what the...?... and that he would call the *&@#ing police if we wouldn't be quiet...all 8 of us, closer to 40 than 20 years old, listening to The Carpenters and drinking cocktails. Ha! We let him know that it was actually 11.45pm and that if he'd asked nicely he'd have more of a chance of getting what he wanted. It was quite amusing to us all! :)

Walking Finds

On these walks, I often find little "treasures"...I think I have the beginnings of a new collection here.

Walkin'

I finally started a minor exercise regime this year. Tomorrow will mark one month of me getting up early and going for a one hour walk around the local area with my Mum (who lives about a 20 minute walk away). Not sure if it's making a difference in me yet but I guess I am feeling healthier.

Here are some of my works in progress -

Editing and Proofreading

Another thing I'm doing at the moment is an editing and proofreading course so I've taken to scouring the local newspaper for mistakes. I particularly enjoyed this sentence from an article about ducks being attacked in a local park -

"However, she said many people now walked around the area and fed the birds, particularly with children."

Poor children...they must be big birds! (I won't name the writer as I don't want to shame them.)

Polymer clay jewellery

Over the last few weeks I've started playing with Sculpey polymer clay. I'm really enjoying using it and have started listing some of my creations for sale on etsy.com and ebay.com.au.

Kind regards, from Georgia

Dear friend,

Welcome to "Kind Regards".

I'm planning to document my many works in progress here.

Stay tuned.

Kind regards,
Georgia
